kuku is roto-ed!

this is my kuku.. she couldnt sit still and stop laughing when the camera 'started rolling'. this took a lot of cajoling and scolding. she likes this video, jumps like a spring when she sees herself on screen (tht rhymed) hope you like it too!

sees herself on screen/ jumps like a spring / her motion tween / like a roto-ed queen/coolest thing i ever seen/ send regards to Springsteen/ upload more rotos. okay, the last line didnt rhyme at all, but then, who said poetry has to rhyme always? these are modern times.

irony or what you call it, one of the earliest rotoscoping was done using a character called 'koko'.

its definitely brilliant for its time. she's lucky she found you. or you found her. i dont think anyone found anyone.

I knew Kuku would love this, and she looks the cutest in front of her background, and I hope she remembers this for a long time as she grows up. This is absolutely brilliant - especially for people who are still getting to know how tracing and all is done. You did a lot, lot of work on this very small shot, and it shows - so completely. There's a huge difference between the original footage and what you've done, oh - her texture is so graceful, and when she looks up, it's slightly surreal. oh oh - and that flowy motion between her frames - how did you do that?? but i ain't comparing anymore. this is in its own league.

make abstract animation interrupted by rhyming words. or maybe words and physical objects rhyming into each other, until you don't know the difference between the two. can kuku be coaxed and cajoled into a stop motion animation thing one day? especially her dancing and voice.
